The Secret of the $5,000 Notebook

We’re at the start of a new month. Did you take a look at your numbers for the first four months? Are you where you want to be revenue wise?

If you aren’t, I’m not surprised. We are in the midst of a pandemic, and all bets are off.

Most people I’ve talked with are not experiencing growth for the month. They are, instead, looking for ways to increase revenue going forward.

I have a friend who she shared her secret of the $5,000 notebook sometime back. I bet you have a similar notebook full of cash and you don’t even know it.

Do you often make notes of the great ideas you had, the new pattern you wanted to create, the class you think should develop? And what happens to the idea? In many cases, mine included, it stays on the page in your notebook or journal or on those little yellow sticky notes. And, it stays there because you move onto the next idea and forget that great idea.

If you are looking for a cash infusion in your business, go back and find that notebook, those slips of paper, and look through them. Highlight those good ideas and then start to take action on one of them.

That’s on my list for the week. I plan to go through the notebooks and highlight the ideas I had that could generate cash in my business and take action on one. How about you?

It’s your turn!

What did you find in your notebook? What’s the first step you can take to bring this idea to frution?

Interesting post, Morna. I’m constantly making notes of ideas and plans I have. I’m on the road a fair bit so it’s easy to jot something in my notebook or IPad. Some ideas may never come to fruition but they may be jumping off points for other ideas. Some plans need to percolate on paper or screen until they are ready. And sometimes I need a kick to just get it done!

Susan, Thanks for adding to the discussion. It’s surprising how much we can have in the notebooks/ipads percolating!

Been spending a lot of time with that notebook these last few weeks…as well as with my 50 ideas to make money list. Both have spearheaded new actions in spite of the fears that have been holding me back. Some ideas have inspired me to overcome hurdles of learning new technologies and strategies before stepping out. It’s amazing what you can do to improve cash flow even just a little bit. If you sit in fear, you guarantee no cash flow. Thanks Morna for always nudging me forward and taking the next action.
